Anybody have any good ideas for cleaning a white headliner? It is not real dirty, but does have a few noticeable dirty spots. I have tried regular dish soap without much success. Since it is 40 years old, I really don't want to use anything too harsh, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Use a diluted solution of Clorox Clean-Up, on a sponge. But quite honestly, after 40 years I don't hold out much hope. The bow slots are most likely very close to being rotted out, so a replacement is probably a better option, over the long term. You could also order some vinyl dye from Mustangs Unlimited and just re-dye it. Its about $8.95 per can. Just be sure to cover everything in the car!
