cleaning your Vert top.

I do pretty much the same thing - nothing but soap and water to wash. Never anything abrasive. I use a convertible top cleaner/conditioner with UV protection. I can't recall the name - blue & white bottle. I usually use quite a bit of it on a terry towel and rub it in pretty good - I keep my car near immaculate and it's amazing how much stuff comes out of the top.

A lot of people, including Ford and the manufacturer of the top, will recommend Raggtopp - never used it myself.

Mothers makes a great convertible cover cleaner....its a blue liquid in a spray bottle...you just spray it on....rub it in with a soft bristle brush.....and rinse off really well!! The back of the bottle guarantees that there will be minimal color fade. I'm happy with it!! :nice:

I've always used just soap and water, but I think I'll try one of these convertible cover cleaners since you guys seem to be happy with them. That is, if it ever warms up again.

I've been having Verts for 4+ years and the only thing that's guaranteed is a knife and whatever your deductable is. :D I can never find a cleaner that actually cleans my top. To protect it from nature's elements, they do have several products that do the job well, but I never found anything that cleans my top the way I want it cleaned. Always have those few spots that'll never come off no matter what I throw at it. :(

im with cajun- ive tried nearly everything under the sun. simple green-spray9-raggtop-soapandwater-some other spray top cleaner. they do clean some of it off but my top still looks dirty- i guess thats the price i pay forgetting it in white :(
