clear headlights

I have changed mine out to those clear ones, what a world of difference let me tell you. I bought them from a guy on VMF several months ago and did the install in late August. I cannot believe the amount of light these new housings with quality bulbs throw out. They look similar to that very white headlights of the new cars. The only problem I have experienced is that the housings are slightly smaller than the old sealed beams so you really have to tighten them down and adjust them properly.
As for the wiring, that was a bit of a job. First I went out and found two 30 amp relays which was difficult for the specific ones I needed. I bought them for about 1.50 or something at Parts Express when some of stores around me wanted $15. From there, I wired them into the harness leading to the headlights. One to the low beams and one to the high beams. There is also a wire that I put to the solenoid. There is a chart somewhere on the net of how do this wiring which makes the job alot easier. It took me a little problem solving to get these lights to work but with a test light I eventually got the job done. I really like the end result, the only problem is that they make my stock fog lights look really dim. Sorry I don't have any pictures as my car is in my garage tucked away for the winter.

i just bought some new lights for my 68 coupe. they're pretty sick. there is a big difference in lights. i didn't do any wiring they plug right in but when i put them on it was kind of raining so when i was driving they started blicking. i just put them on today. i don't know what to do if there is anyone who can help me.

two things to check, one the headlight switch, and two the dimmer switch. if either is going bad you will have the blinking problem. the headlight switch is the likely culprit here. replace it, and also wire in a relay to run the lights to take the load off the switch itself.

Replace that, for many of us have had to replace this, myself included because it will start to flicker on and off. That may solve the problem but since you are running these higher powered headlights
it maybe the reason it failed in the first place. People claim that if you just simply plug these higher powered lights it will burn up the wires possibly causing a fire which I can completely believe since after I put in the two 30 amp relays. The wires that run the juice to the headlights are so puny it is amazing they even brighten up the road. I will attempt to find a wiring harness for you.

Its your headlight switch. There is a built-in circuit breaker. A new switch should fix the problem.. A new harness would also be beneficial as the old, stiff, cracked wires are not as efficient as you might want, especially if you start adding new technology like electric fans, stereo & amps, A/C systems, etc.
