Hey guys,

I am putting a few items on my 91 GT that I want to get rid of including a set of clear LX taillights. They were on the 88 LX when I bought it and they had standard bulbs for all but the brake lights. The brake lights were LED. Last night when I put the clear tails on the GT, I pulled the LED bulbs from the LX and put them in the GT. When I turned on the parking lights, all came on for a second then all went out except the pass side outside marker light and the pass side rear park light. I did not check the brakes to see if they worked, headlights are fine.

Could these LED's have caused the lights to go out? I don't believe a fuse blew since 2 of 6 lights still work. I checked out the wiring on the LX and did not see anything special and there was never any problems with these LED's in that car.

Thanks,
Cliff :)

The first thing you should do is break out your DMM to see if you have voltage at the connectors for the offending lights. Then you can start tracing the problem from there... Good Luck

take the clear tail lights off and burn them, too ricerishh :notnice:

Like I said, I put them on this car to get rid of them along with some other stuff I don't want like Cobra rear wing, 2 1/2" cowl hood, 94 seats, new black carpet, no cat H-pipe and some flows. Shot the car teal and will sell it when I put it back together. Just trying to figure out what to do with the tail/park lights. Did not have time to look at it yesterday. My new FFR MkIII Roadster (Cobra) came in yast night. :D

Any other thoughts?

Thanks,
Cliff :)

Thats the first time I ever heard of "getting rid of parts" meaning that you put them on your car.
The car will be leaving very soon. These parts being on it will acomplish getting rid of them. They are not bad parts, just not stuff I like. The car looks freakin awesome, it's just not my style, and I need to thin the herd some. Probably sell 2 or 3 of my stangs, maybe even the 4-eye freak.

Any other thoughts on the LED's? And no I'm not paying someone to look at it. I should have time tomorrow to dig into it.

Cliff :)
