clear turn signal lights w/ white bulbs?

I've been running clears on the front of my car for a while now. No problems with the po-po thus far. But when the turn signals are off, the bulb still looks amber every though it is clear.

i know in tennessee they are illegal but i ran clears in my gt and wrangler for years with no problem

White bulbs are illegal in florida as well...I had clear turn signals in old s10 and added orange bulbs and it didn't look bad at all IMO and looked normal at night.....Mine is the pewter truck BTW

In California they must light up yellow.
But here in LA, the cops are so busy doing everything else that everyone gets away with anything...

What is your source for this? "California Vehicle Code Section 24953(a) Any turn signal system used to give a signal of intention to turn right or left shall project a flashing white or amber light visible to the front and a flashing red or amber light visible to the rear."

My friend with the CHP up in Big Bear...
And he's not too busy to pull people over for having lights that don't look right...

Yeah, the CHP has somewhat of a reputation for citing people for things that are really okay. Too bad not that many people go to court to fight them.

See the thing is, it's not ok.
Have you seen the people with clear turn signals? At night you can't even see the turn signals blinking since they are the same color as the headlights. The blue or red turn signals are even better.

And don't even get me started on the a-holes with brake and tail lights so dark you can barely see them during the day, and not much better at night. Those are a lawyer's wet dream.

The CHP is there to ENFORCE laws, not MAKE laws. If they think there is a safety issue, then they should try to get the legislature and the governor to change the law. Why do we have a legislature in California, if not to make laws? Bet you don't have an answer for that! LOL.

True story:

Ex-college roomate of mine is now an attorney in Los Angeles.

Client of his gets rear-ended at 50+ mph at night on the 110 freeway south of downtown.

Lawsuit is going well, until defense submits the taillights as evidence.
Bulbs were analyzed to see if they were lit (filaments burned in air when they were smashed) and they were.
But the lenses were dark smoke.
Defense attorney brought in a stock taillight (Honda Accord), and an identical one ordered by the defense client.
Showed them both to the jury, with bulbs lit.
Asked the defense why he changed his tail lights to ones that could hardly be seen.
He had no other reason than "it looked cool".
Jury locked.

4 weeks later, a new lawsuit, this time by the prosecution client claiming it was the Accord driver's fault. Settled out of court, but my friend doesn't know how much, he wasn't part of that case.

So you're right, get those funky lights!

just install the stealth bulbs, they have a chrome look to them when their off, but light up amber, you can't tell their there.
