So I have water spots that somehow got under the clear coat of my rear spoiler. I tried rubbing/cleaning it with a towel and waxing, but they're still there. What should I do? Try the claybar? Or should I just not bother and get it repainted?

My warranty has expired so there's no point in using the dealer anymore.

Try the claybar! I had some pretty bad waterspots on my 05 that came off with dawn dishwashing detergent, then claybar, then Zaino.

U need to have it buffed out & polished professionally. No need to repaint it

A claybar won't take off etched in waterspots. They are made for removing surface contaminants, nothing else.

You either have to get it cleaned professionally, which means having a detailer use a buffer and abrasives to remove the spot.

Either that, or pick up a Porter Cable 7336, some pads, good swirl remover, and do it yourself.

The latter is more satisfying btw

I had the same issue with my hood. I went the expensive route and replaced it with a new one.

If you wash, claybar, buff with 3M Perfect It II fine compound and then wax it, they will be gone for sure. If you know someone with a high speed buffer (as opposed to an 'orbital' like the PC) then that would be the best route .. but you can buff it out by hand.

seconded. use a good polish (optimum or poorboys) worked in with a PC, followed by a sealer and then some natty's blue. there are a few sites which have tutorials on the use of a PorterCable and various pads and products.
