Hey guys. After recently completing an h/c/i 302 and dropping it in, I haven't been able to get the thing to run anywhere near right. In addition to the h/c/i, I also put in 24 lb. injectors, a 65mm tb, and a pro-m maf calibrated for the 24 lbers.

This was partiallly my fault, because I forgot to install the ACT sensor on the new intake (port was filled with a pipe plug when I got it) and I figure that is what led to the CEL and poor running in the first place. Now, after installing the ACT off my old motor, I still am getting CEL's, and the engine still won't idle.

Do I need to reset the computer after installing the ACT? Also, how long should it take for the ECU to adapt to all of the new parts?

it wouldnt hurt to unhook the batt for like 20 min and see if they come back. It wont take too long at all for the ecu to relearn anything that is wrong

Cool. I'll do that in the next few days when I get a chance, and see what codes come back.

And the time to adapt will depend upon what issue there is and how the car is driven (generally a soft but variety-filled run around can get a puter on the way to decent adaptation).

I'm with IWMC about resetting the KAM now that you know what was stored in there. You can save time by disco'ing the battery and turning on the headlights for 20 seconds (this discharges the KAM's capacitors quickly).

Good luck and enjoy the new combo!
