For an 87/92 GT...

I was wondering if anybody's done this or seen it done? I'm just curious if it's possible? The headliner is held in by the sunroof, it wraps around the lip in the sheet metal where the weather stripping goes and is glued in place and the weather stripping is placed over top, and that's all the support in the center that its got. And I'm doubting the cloth will be able to be held on by any glue, so i was thinking maybe the weather stripping would hold it in place, if it can fit over top of the extra material that cloth has over vinyl

I need a headliner is the reason i'm asking, have a porno red one, and need black, and have sunvisors out of a car that never had a sunroof so they're cloth, and besides, the vinyl just makes it look cheap, cloth IMO looks much nicer.

Oh yah, I almost forgot... Behind the sunroof there was a fair size pad of foam, don't know exact dimensions (roughly 1 foot by 3 feet) or what it's called but mice got at it and ate it all out when i pulled out my headliner, anybody know where I can get this?

Thanks in advance

Definately can be done. Did it last year except instead of cloth I used a 'pleather' type material and it worked great. The sunroof seal will hold it up, the hardest part for me was getting the heavier material to stick to the board, but with cloth that wouldnt be an issue.

Here are some pics. Thesd were also before I got the actual weatherstripping seal, but chrome strip is the same thing.

i had mine redone at a local apholstry shop with materials came out to be 120 im in houston, i would take that into consideration, factor in the cost of parts and your labor and it might be better to have it done. my mustang had the vinyl liner i belive it is made with vinyl because it dose not have the space in the fabric to catch air wich IMO will mean a shorter life span for the liner.
