Clunk noise shortly after startup?

I'm wondering if this is normal.

Shortly after startup, say 2 or 3 seconds there is sometimes (not always) one dull clunk sound that comes from the car. The car is out of gear when this happens, and I am thinking it has something to do with the transmission which is a 5speed.

Anybody else experience this?

What could it be?

yes mine does it when the defroster is on.... I'm not really sure if its anything to worry about...

You mean rear window heater/defrost or defrost setting on vent switch? (sorry, haven't looked at one recently) lots of cars turn on the a/c when defrost is selected to dry out the air. possibly the a/c compressor going on?

our 06 has done it since day one. even without any accessories on. but only when it is first cranked from sitting overnight or a long period of time. i have grown used to it by now. if it breaks, then i will worry about it...
