Finally, I got the car running today. Put about 10 miles or so on it. Seems to be running fine, holding a steady 50lbs of oil pressure. Front jet needs to be backed down to a 72 I think, it hesitates for a sec pulling off from a stop.

How long should I drive it "conservatively" with a brand new clutch before I can start beating on it a little? I know some people that just abuse a new clutch from the start but Ive always heard to put a few miles on them before being really agressive.

I really appreciate all the help you guys have given....

TIA, Jon

I'd got for 250-500 miles of pretty easy use (but not so easy that you're slipping the clutch). That will let the frictions get to know eachother and it will heat cycle the parts.

A lot of folks will probably have a lower mileage recommendation (if they can make it 100 miles before ripping on it, they're happy).

500 miles is what most say.

I think around 300 miles or so is when my clutch started feeling normal in terms of grab. Before then around 100-150 miles i did notice a little slip when i jumped on it
