Im trying to install my damn clutch cable, and i cant remember exactly where the the little mounting tab goes on the frame.

It comes out of the firewall, then makes a bend and there is an "L" shaped bracket that mounts the cable either to the shock tower or frame rail..... somewhere around the master cylinder. The problem is, i looked at it last night, and cant remember how the thing attached.

Also, does it go under or over the K member then back to the tranny?

j/k it goes over the k-member and mounts to the bottom of the shock tower, almost where the k member touches. but mine isnt even bolted down and works fine.

My cable from Maximum motorsports is too long to use that bracket anymore....but if you ever get tired of going through a million autozone/checker crap ones pick one up off of Maximummotorsports.com. It's the only one that's held up to my clutch.

Im using my stock cable for now just to get the thing running and get me around the block at least once. once i have all the new motor bugs fixed, ill start upgrading that stuff.

But thats the one im planning on going with when i upgrade, is the MM cable, and quadrant etc...

Slightly off-topic, I'm installing my clutch and flywheel this weekend. Would you guys recommend installing a new cable? Everything seems to be working except for the clutch-slip and having a hard time getting the car in reverse.

Go for it.

Get a cable from ford or maximum motorsports. Parts store cables suck.

With the Ford cable from MM, you can re-use the stock bracket that holds the cable, you just need to bend it a bit. Got the one on Frankenstang's Capri to work just fine with it, with a bit of, umm ... persuasion, involving a pair of Vise-Grips and Channel-Locks...
