Clutch cable question...

Hey guys...I did a search and didn't come up with anything, so I figured I would make a post about it. I plan on swapping my pedal assembly etc today in the stang. Going from an auto to a standard. Anyway, I need to go grab a pedal assembly from the junkyard and I was wondering if the 4 cylinder clutch cable is the same as the v8 or, or at least close enough to use for my swap. The car has a TKO 600 transmission w/spec stage 3 clutch.

Any advice would be much appreciated

You will need a V8 clutch cable. The rest of it is OK from the 4 cyl. You can get a V8 cable at any speed shop.

don't use the stocker, specially w/ a heavy clutch.

you'll break the plastic quadrant, at least get the summit adj cable w/ qudrant it's less than $80 i think.

i smoked a motorsport HD in less than a week from using the stock quadrant

Well I'm putting a new quadrant in the car, but I have read adjustable cables like to break. So i'll just get a good quadrant and a firewall adjuster.

I've never had an adjustable cable break. I always use McLeod in the clutch system though - cable, quadrant, firewall adjuster, fork, bellhousing, flywheel, disc, and pressure plate.

i have the summit one and its worked fine for me...

i have never heard that aftermarket ones are likely to break but it is common knowledge that stockers suck

Not really. I've had the same adj. cable quadrant in my car since 04', never had any problems.
