As you guys know I couldn't install my new clutch by my self so finally today I dropped my car with Centerforce DF Clutch , ford throwout bearing , ford pilot bearing and ford clutch cable. Flywheel is stock just getting resurface.

I will get my car tomorrow and will let you guys know how it feels. What is the break-in time for new clutch ? 400 miles ? Should I be driving and shifting 6000 rpm or take it easy like 2500 rpm shift. No race for how long ?

Thanks in adavance

DO NOT get an ajustable clutch cable, i just went through 2 of them in a matter of a week. STAY WITH fords OEM ... just replace the damn quadriant.. if you end up going that way ...! As far as breaking her in take it easy for the first 500 miles or so after that let her rip ! Enjoy your new clutch man

Break in...do you break in a new clutch when you buy a new car?

There was a guy at the drag strip last weekend with a brand new Shelby GT500 with 50 miles on the clock....im guessing there is no break in hehehe

About 500 miles of stop/go is usually recommended. 5th gear on the highway doesn't count.

That's what they say, but I think most people cheat. Some go to the drag strip the very next day.

Ok, I'm considering changing my clutch myself. So... what problems did you have that you couldn't finish it yourself? I'm wanting to know what I'm in for that's going to possibly trip me up. Your advice on this would be helpful.

I didn't know there is 2 more bolt up top. You cannot see it as I didn't , I have heard you have to tilt your trans way down to see and loosen those bolt. Starter was a bitch to take it out, hold by 3 bolts and almost impossible to get to the top bolt.

I did my clutch change myself with a friend with the car on jackstands. The top two bolts are not that bad. Neither is the starter if you have a friend to help. There are a couple of tips/tricks for the top two bolts.

If I remember correctly, it took us 4 hours. We were not in a hurry.

All I can say is WOW . Got my car this afternoon , first time I drove it my clutch was like hot knife to butter. Soft and smooth, very easy to press clutch as my old one was so damn hard my back used to hurt. I am very happy and can't wait till 500 mile to bang gears.

Let me find my notes I had gathered when I did mine. Remind me (PM) if I don't get them soon.

I'm glad you like this clutch. I had this one installed a while back as well, and I still love it to this day. It's feather light when just driving normal, but when you want to get on it, it grips like it's holding on for dear life. I guess that's why they call it DUAL friction
