clutch help

i had to put a new clutch in, so i put a new pilot bearing and throwout in too. now when cable is adjusted pedal is great, but now i have a chirping noise when pedal is completly out. When i touch the pedal it goes away. I should have mentioned its all stock kit. thanks

thats not normal is it? When the cable has slack in it thats when i get noise. is there suppose to be a preload on it?

It's not normal but very common. It's a TOB/TOB lubrication issue. Until the TOB can be replaced, you can preload the cable a smidge if the noise is bothersome.

If you just had this clutch installed and/or it's under warranty, the shop should be taking care of it.

ok, thanks for the advise. i will be taking it back to them now.

My TOB has been chirping for about 25k miles... Used to bother me, but now with the new exhaust not so much of an issue ..... My 88 GT did the same thing for over 70k miles and never gave me a problem.

They can hold up quite a long time while chirping, while some fall apart rather quickly. When it comes to dispensing advice to strangers, I try to error on the side of caution.

And if the repair and parts are under warranty, it's a no brainer.
