Hey guys i have a 1996 mustang GT that has a 1999 PI motor in it. The question i have is it has a 5 speed and the kid i got the car from say it has a racing clutch in it and only has 3k miles on it. In 5th gear and reverse it grinds and then goes into gear? Could this be the sincrows or what could it be?

Does it ever pop out of 5th or reverse?
Mis-adjusted clutch, stretched cable, mis-adjusted shifter stops (if you have an aftermarket short-throw shifter), bad bushing in shifter and bent shift fork are all things that can lead to difficulty engaging a gear. If it started when the clutch was put int then I'd suspect the clutch needs adjustment.
