Clutch makes noise when stereo is on

i recently installed a new head unit on my 2004 v-6 mustang, the wirig harnesses were no help so i decided to cut and splice wire by wire, the head unit turns on and plays good when the car is in accessory mode (on but not running), when the engine is running however, the clutch makes a scraping noise whenever i engage it, when the stereo is off the clutch makes no noise at all, its only making the noise when the stereo is on, any body know what the problem might be? mechanical or electrical? any info will help..thanks

That sounds quite strange.Clutch makes noise while stereo is on? The only thing I can think of that would even remotely affect the clutch operation would be a loose wire hanging down underneath. What about when the ignition is in ACC mode? Push the clutch in and see if you hear a noise. Also, turn the key to ON but dont start it,now push the clutch and see if you hear a noise.Check underneath and make sure there isn't a bare wire brushing against the metal portion of the clutch assembly. This is the only thing I could think of that would cause this.A bare wire that becomes hot when the stereo is on and creates a scraping noise when it brushes against metal (which would be ground). The scraping could be sparking noise from the wire.
