my 98 gt which I recently bought a few months ago is now making a strange noise I am thinking that its from the clutch because
when im in nuetral and I push the clutch in it will slightly lower then noise lvl
and when im going down the road it will completely stop the noise when I push the clutch in

has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it? throwout bearing maybe?

sounds like a throwout bearing...

throw-out dude...very common from what I've read in searches. Mine does it too--almost embarassing at red lights. I bought a new Cobra clutch though and it goes in soon. I've heard some guys get lucky with a spray of white lithium grease, but you're only prolonging the inevitable IMO

yea in my old 5.0 the throwout bearing used to make that same noise, it was annoying as hell and probably made my car look like a pos

Mine's been chirping for about 20k and no probs. A couple cross countrys and lots of burnouts later she hasn't given up the ghost yet! I'm sure it's probably trashed though. Like I said..new clutch is on the way in now.

I'd fly it and watch it. If the pedal feels rough on the way down then worry.
