Has anyone here ever had their clutch get hard? I posted this over in the tech section but only got 1 response. Its hard as I press it and kinda jumps back when I depress. If press it all they way and let it snap back it will be soft for a few presses then gets hard again. What could be causing this?

99 percent of the time when the pedal gets hard like that what happens is the clutch fork and pivot ball and the cable are damaged. the pivot ball gets ridges in it and is no longer a good surface for the clutch fork to pivot on.

to fix any of that the trans needs to be droped. so befor you do that make sure the quadrant is working properly. The quadrant is located on the clutch pedal itself under the dash.

My pivot ball was worn out pretty bad when I changed my clutch. This might be your problem.

How do I test the quadrant to make sure thats functioning properly? If the quadrant is ok will the other parts be covered by warranty? Or would it be cheaper to have a local shop do it ($150 is my deductible)? I only have 3k miles left on my warranty. Also I read somewhere that a short throw shifter will cause fork bending, is this true?
