All of a sudden my clutch pedal vibrates (I know a little vibration is normal) but it's pretty loud. There's about an inch or so worth of play when pressing it down before the clutch starts to disengage (which should be normal). So that inch or so worth of play is where it seems to shake too much (the engine idles smoothly to). The pedal used to be stiffer, now it seems loose. Any ideas?
The car still shifts and drives fine, the pedal just shakes too much when it's in its fully up position.

Mine did that too. My neighbor, who is one of those certified mechanic-type guys, told me that's what it was. Along with my clutch pedal rattling, you could also hear my throw-out bearing squeaking sometimes too.
