Clutch pedal vibration

My clutch pedal is vibrating when not engaged. I can also hear a small rattle noise when it happens.
If I put slight pressure on the pedal sideways with my foot it will stop.

I had a mechanic check it and he said it look fine.

Could the problem be that the clutch cable is streched and needs to be replaced?

it's very common for the stock quadrant to not hold it's adjustment anymore. in fact there was a TSB on this for the V-8 cars. if you do a search on a few sites you will find a few articles on how to manually adjust the stock quadrant if the pulling up on the clutch pedal method don't work.

I have run into this problem many times at work ( I am a ford tech) and this is what it is every time. BTW the noise is your throw out bearing, that may or may not go away when you fix the cable adjustment.

Yeah, I have the same problem. I first thought that the noise was coming from the engine, but I can hear a ticking noise until I pull up on the clutch pedal from the bottom. I also have a whistling sound coming from the clutch pedal as I let it out(Cricket in my Clutch), and this, I have been informed, IS the throw out bearing, which both indicate that I need a new clutch...which I am getting done shortly. Any standard prices for a clutch job?
Thanks
