hey guys. my stang and mods are in my sig - 02 blown GT. 41,6xx miles blown since 10k. starting yesterday afternoon, i feel like the clutch cable has stretched. if the clutch is not pressed, i have about an inch or so of free play where there is NO resistance. when i do not press the clutch down, if i rest my foot next to it, i can feel it vibrating. almost like its moving in and out a TINY bit, very fast. as soon as i put ANY amount of pressure on it, the vibrating stops. a friend at work said it may be my TOB on its way out. but i always thought that a TOB woudl only come into play when the clutch is depressed.
i also dont think its disengaging properly/fully. i have never had a problem getting it into gear, but when i pulled onto the highway, i got on it in 1st, tried to shift into 2nd (not a normal shift, quickshifting) and it felt like i hit the stop, so i let the clutch out and it was in neutral! later that day, the samething happened in 3rd gear.
i tried adjusting it. engine off in 1st gear, pull up till it clicks, then push it down. didnt help at all.
could i have somehow stretched the cable? is there another adjustment i can make?? or is this an actual CLUTCH issue where i will have to replace the clutch?
