How old is the clutch? Do you have a stock cable and plastic quadrant? It may have just run out of adjustment like so many of them do. Mine did, but I didnt wait till it was that bad. Once you start to have probs getting into gears, its time to fix it. You will tear up the trans trying to drive it this way. Remove the cover at the clutch fork. Its one bolt then it slides back IIRC, it has a clip on the other end. If it has an adjustable cable, tighten it up. Look for a firewall adjuster, if you dont have one, I highly recommend getting one. As well as an aluminunm quad to replace the plastic crap ford put in there. Mine lasted over 100,000mi though. The way to adjust the factory stuff is to pull up on the clutch pedal and listen for a clicking. Mine was shot, and would not adjust. Hope this helps.
