clutch quadrant removal

how do you get the back plastic piece off?
(the one with the spring attached)
I got the spring off but the plastic part does not slide off the pin due to the metal on the other sidenot giving it enough room

I know what you mean, I think it helps if you move the clutch pedal up or down and it puts it in a spot where there's clearance....if it's on the same studs thats on the clutch pedal, I forget.

I read somewhere a while ago that if you're removing it to replace it, one of the best ways is to break it to pieces.

on my 95 that is what I did, do i need that piece for a 3 way adjustible quad to keep it in place and so it hits the stopper?

Break the plastic POS. That is what I did anyway.
