Ok, well, this is the first car i've ever had to replace a clutch on, but sadly the time has come and i have a few questions. First, should i look to an upgraded clutch or just get another stuck one put in? If i get an upgrade, should I also get a flywheel (the car has around 70,000 miles on it now)? Finally, what kind of price range should i be looking for on labor? I'm in Richmond, VA right now at school so i can't use the shop that treats me so well back home, so I was looking for some kind of direction to make sure i'm not getting ripped off by somebody down here. Thanks for the help.

If you go with a Ford racing king cobra, you can find them as low as about 165 shipped. Also, if you have the space, install it yourself, youll save more money in labor than you spent on the clutch, its really not a hard job to do, just time consuming and be sure to have at LEAST one, preferrably two people to help you out. Also, resurface the flywheel, and get a new pilot bearing as well. Oh yea, PLEASE for your sake, drain the transmission, it will make your life MUCH more enjoyable if you decide to do the job on your own.
