Clutch slipping question

Ok i replaced my clutch, pressure plate and had my flywheel machined this week. It has a new stock clutch and the engine is all stock too. However, at 75% throttle or more, the clutch starts to slip. i have only driven the car a couple miles so i dont burn it up again. I assume i did not adjust the cable right. Any thoughts?

After reading a few previous posts on here, it looks like i most likely made the cable too tight so its still engaged. ill readjust it tomorrow.

I would break the clutch in and burnish the flywheel before getting on it. The new components need to be bed-in.

For the adjustment, if your point of engagement is close to the top of the pedal's range of travel, then you could probably stand to add some slack.

always adjust a clutch for function never for feel. properly adjusted the clutch will begin to engage about 1/2 way up it's travel. If the clutch engages/grabs off the floor it's adjusted to loose, if the clutch engages/grabs too high then it's it too tight. you want about 1" to a 1/2" of free play at the top of the pedal. at the very least you want too make sure when you are letting up on the pedal that you have to come about a 1" of the floor before it engages.

are you 100% sure you didnt get any oil on it?

Ok it turns out that i did have the cable too tight. Now the car drives perfectly. thanks for the help guys.

HMMMMMMmmmm I wonder if I'm in the same boat, the car pulls hard especially when cold but loses a little forward moment when warmed even though it winds up the same, my clutch is a stock replacement and I have a few mods to the engine. It doesn't engage till the pedal's almost all the way out like about a 1". All the linkage is stock too, I do have a bbk quadrant and fire wall adjuster and adjustable cable just never put it on and the clutch has been making noises especially the throw out bearing and every once in a while it'll grind a gear and not the normal 2nd.

try not to get on it too hard for the first few hundred miles. The clutch needs to bed into the new flywheel, and will slip when new.

Some say 500 miles is the required break in, but i found around 250-300 miles is whem mine fully bedded in and i could go 100% WOT without slippage.
