You must have the 2001 GT that's built in the 1st half of 2001. The GT's that were built during the 1st half of 2001 are the ones which have the T-45 transmission in them. The 2001 GT's which were built from March or April 2001 and afterwards had the Tremec 3650 or 3560 (I forget the sequence of the numbers here) transmission in them. I don't think that the type of transmission has to do with whether your clutch is softer or harder to press down when changing gears.

You could just need a clutch adjustment. I am not sure. Does anybody else in here know about this issue?

you're fine don't worry about it. some of the new tremec 3650 trannys are having problems. Hence, throw bearing problems and synchro problems.
the T-45 is the better pick..
