ok, i just got my tranny pulled out for the rebuild on the svo. now i need to start saving for a GOOD clutch to put back in. i think im just wanting to try to get around 300rwhp out of this car. so what would be a good choice as far as you guys's experiences?

Most guys run a stock disk with an upgraded pressure plate. I've heard people grenade Centerforce clutches. I would suggest a Spec pressure plate. Probably stage 2.

Do you want a high performance clutch, or one that lasts a little while?

I have a Centerforce II (I think it was) pressure plate and clutch disk, which I picked up for around $200. You just need a throwout bearing to go with them, but I've been happy with it so far.

A lot of people run the Spec Stage III, but I've also heard it only lasts 10,000 miles...and for $300-something, screw that.

well, i want the clutch to last a while.....this isnt going to be a car that goes out to the track or anything like that.

Go to clutchnet.com and get a "yellow" disc, use a stock pressure plate, and you'll be good to go.

Are you kidding? The stage 1's torque capacity is 255 (as stated in the title) which is about 100lb/ft less than you'd be making at 300rwhp.

ok, so i buy the "yellow" disk and leave everything else stock. does clutchnet also sell the rest of the kit stock? or will i have to buy a new kit from Autozone or something and not use the disk?
