Cobra Brake install

I have the red cobra calipers for the 13inch brake upgrade to install on my 1999 gt I bought rotors and my only question is do i need new brake lines and banjo fitings or can i use the ones on my car? i know the new calipers have a 3/8 16 tread if that helps.

if you bought it from buyfordracing, ss lines, new crush washers, and banjo bolts are included.

ss is the biggest improvement when I did my swap. the pedal feel is awesome, nice and firm. press down 2 inches, and its full lock, unlike the stock spongy feel where it has to go to the floor.

well if you change to a cobra caliper, it may use a different pitch? there are 2 different types: fine thread and coarse thread.

best to change a cheap part anyways.

cobain, doubt they'll carry cobra calipers. go to buyfordracing.com and buy their kit, cheapest I've seen.

I just did the 10th anniversary swap two days ago and the banjo bolts that come on the 99-04 GT's will not fit. I guessed and was lucky enough to have ordered the course thread bolts at the same time (thank god) with some SS lines. The install was easy enough but Murphy must have been sitting on my shoulder a few times.

He was with me too. Got the drivers side on okay, caliper, line everything. Then on the passenger side, I stripped the threads where I screw in the SS line into the caliper. ****ing great. I tried to tap it, but no dice. I decide to throw the stock caliper and lines back on, but now the stock line doesn't want to screw on :bang: :bang: :bang:. I double check to make sure the SS lines still go on, and they do so I get my caliper helicoiled the next day, and throw the son bitch on, and works fine.
