cobra brake pad install

Hey, is there an easier way on how to compress the pistons in the cobra brake caliper so itll fit onto the rotor with the new pads installed? im using vice grips and it still wont go on/compress down all the way.

if anyone knows what im talking about or has any info, let me know cause i need to install them.

Yes, a c-clamp would work much better.

I'd go to autozone (or a similar store). They have a device to compress the brakes pistons down. Makes it much easier.

i found my c-clamps and tried them too, but it didnt really compress the piston far enough. Im going to try and get that kit from napa or somewhere, thanks guys

Are you talking front or rear. Fronts they make a special dual piston compressor. I got mine from MATCO, its a piston grip looking compessor. for the rears you use the tool Dark showed to turn them in.

the fronts, already got the rears replaced

It might be too late but what I like to do is use my old brake pads with my C-clamps. Just keep the old back pad on there and use the c-clamp through one of the holes in the caliper. That way it presses the two pistons more evenly.

thats the pic of my pistol grip thingy i was looking for. The top one is for Brembo style calipers.
