I want to get Cobra front brakes for my GT. Is it a bolt-on deal or is does it involve trimming the spindle or something like that?

It is a bolt on only ordeal, no cutting or trimming. It is pretty easy actually. Look into stainless steel brake lines while you're at it.

you shouldnt need to grind the spindle because the bracket holds the caliper further away. reason it is needed on the 99+ v6/gt brakes is because the caliper is at the same height as the 94-98 gt/v6

Are cobra rear brakes any bigger than the stock GT's?

Also, is it cheaper to buy a kit, or get the brackets and calipers through Ford and get aftermarket discs and lines?

www.discbrakesrus.com sells the basic kit for about $400 too. They also have a lot of options as far as powdercoating in a few different colors, slotted/drilled rotors, etc.
