I've an 01 gt and would like to install a cobra instrument cluster that I have of the same year. Has anyone done this and, because of the 160 mph speedo, what needs to be done to make it read correctly? Thanks for any info.

The extra 10 MPH the speedo shows isn't of much value (if you could even get up to the speed) as the faster you go the less accurate the speedometer becomes. If you just want the look, get a white face kit.. At higher speeds you're probably better off with a GPS unit.

BTW.. I went to high school in Kalama and have family in the Kelso / Longview area.. Greetings!

I'm originally from Clatskanie and live in Lexington, just outside Kelso. The reason I ask is that I have the cluster and like the white face, just would like to know if calibration is necessary or even possible without much hassle.

If memory serves a computer reflash is necessary. SHM had some for sale in their 2004 catalog, and if I remember correctly the ad said a reflash of the computer had to be done to get it to read correctly.

You don't have to calibrate anything. What you do need is to have the PATS and mileage programmed into the new cluster.. or you could also forget those steps and swap your GT circuit board into the Cobra cluster (assuming it's a 99-01 cluster) and accept the 10mph difference.
