Would a cobra intake really make an improvement on my GT. I see people selling them for $500 bucks when I can get a brand new typhoon for $350. What do you guys think is the cobra really that good?

You can find the cobra intake from around $300/$400 on ebay that's were I got mine. I think the typhoon is the replica of the eddy RPM and would be to much for a faily stock motor.

Get a used Explorer manifold. They are the same thing as the Cobra manifold is, but for much less. I got the lower for 125 and the upper for 205 = $330. Don't get a Typhoon manifold. It's made in China, and IMO, that should say enough about the quality. Plus, it's too big for a stock headed motor.

I bought my cobra intake for $200 and that's upper and lower. It's not as good as the trickflow or the ebock but it was alot cheaper.

I think the big differences between the Cobra intake and others really only happens once you add aftermarket heads and/or cam. Add a set of high flow heads and you'll get more power from Edlebrock Performer than the Cobra (not that the Cobra intake is bad, but the other flows a bit more).

Check out the FAQ sheet for 94/95 at the top of this forum. No matter what, either intake is better than stock and the Cobra is good for very decent power. I'm concerned with emissions, so I'll be looking at Performer Intake and Heads with a mild cam.

I picked up my like-new Cobra upper/lower from a guy off the boards for $250. I like the looks of it and plan on keeping it even after my heads and cam swap.

I got mine from a mustang wreaking yard. I could have bought the procharger that was on the car for $1000. But I just didnt have the money at the time. I was just about to leave for college.
