What do you guys think of the cobra killer kit? I would like to know what kinds of numbers you guys have gotten out of them and if any problems? Also if you think it is better than a D1SC? Any info would be nice
Thanks
Mike

There's not a more thought out kit on the market today imo. Tune is as safe as it gets, makes great power, and there are many options to go along with it. D1-SC is a great blower too but your'e still gonna need a tune with it.

You can have someone local install it. He has customers in canada, New Mexico, New York, etc.

It's a great kit overall, just warn your mechanic that there is a lot of cross shipping that will have to take place. Cant really blame Tim at all b/c a lot of it is out of his hands, but Steeda's shipping dept sucks and be prepared for about a week to a week and a half for the fuel pump to get back to you (in terms of you shipping it off and getting it back). I'm supposed to get my fuel pump today so hopefully I'll have the car up and running by tonight.

So far my experience has been positive. This kit includes everything you need to have a safe reliable supercharged engine(even new plugs.) You can install the kit yourself or have a shop install it. The tune on mine was perfect out of the box.
The only thing that I would have changed if I could do it over: Would be to upgrade to the Novi 2000. I had a few issues with my headunit leaking(which was fixed by Vortech under warranty with a fast turn around.) that has just left me a little nervous.

Yellow2KGT How many pounds of boost are you running? I see that you are at 365rwhp is that because you didnt put forged internals in your car? If you do put the internals in you could push much more right? (on that charger)

I am just running the stock 8lb pulley with no power pipe. I am sure I could easily get alot more out of this setup If I dropped a pulley size or added a power pipe, but I am happy with my numbers. My car drives like stock (except for the extra power and the blower whine,) and that is where this kit really shines.

I have the steeda tune which was basically the same as the original mongoose kit. You can read about the steeda tune on thier website. A search on this site will bring up a plethora of info, bs and bickering so try to sort out whats real and whats not.. The kit is solid, makes good numbers and is adaptable. Nothing to complain about. My car was stock, still has the stock exhaust and everything and it put down 357 RWHP and 360 RWTQ.

Yes it includes everything you need. The only other parts you might want to add is a boost and fuel pressure gauge. Also, nothing needs to be modified to make this kit fit. If you want to get a closer look at the install just go to Vortech's site and download their installation manual. The Cobra Killer kit install is basically the same thing except for a few minor changes. As far as headers go: Well that is up to you. You certainly don't need then (I don't have any) but you will likely pick up quite a few more horsepower with them.

Oh I forgot about the driveabilty question... Yes the car drives like stock. It idles smooth, it starts like stock. Everything is just like stock except the power.

Yup. My car did not even need to be retuned. But it would be a good idea to atleast run your car on the dyno to make sure the A/F checks out.

Here is a link to my dyno graph

For some reason Stangnet will not let me post it here.
