Well right now i have a 2000 mustang gt and need some help. I went looking for cars becasue i want something faster than my gt so i was looking at the cobras. I found a 01 cobra for 18,000 and had 38k miles on it. I found an 03 cobra for 26,000 with 20k miles on it. My question is how much horsepower can the 01 cobra block handle before i gotta change stuff? Correct me if im wrog but cant the 03 cobra engine handle like 600 horsepower or something like that? Would it be better for me to buy the 03 throw a pulley, tune, and some other minor stuff or buy the 01 and supercharge it. Thanks for the responses and sorry for the long post.

there are cobra's north of that, but some people blow them up much easier.

alot relies on the tune of course, along with other things. do alot of reading before you jump into either. svtperformance.com is where ive been hanging out alot.

If your gonna supercharge an '01 Cobra anyway, might as well buy the '03-'04 Cobra and have the blower and forged internals taken care of already. If you can afford the 25K+ price of them, I think their worth it.

SVTperf. is a flame war 24/7. People there are rude as crap. If you want a GOOD 03/04 forum, go to www.modularfords.com . Best terminator tech on the web.
