Well my rear bumper is about to get painted and I want to know what color is the bottom part of the bumper?
flat black?

hmmmm, so what happens when you washed it? since there is no clear coat it will eventually come off.

The lower black part on the rear bumper is an unpainted black plastic insert with a finish just like the plastic cowl in front of the windshield.

It is not painted and it is not flat black.

that is weird...from my wreck, mine came out a gunmetal blueish. I had to have it repainted. Maybe the mold.

SAME HERE!!
my paint guy was like, "well I can try to take that off with something and maybe it has that "black" primer underneath."
But there was no black primer.

What he said he will do is a 4 stage paint job.
Tape the botto part off then paint the top, clear coat it, then paint bottom (black of course) and do some type of soft gloss or something like that.

FYI: I got my bumper straight from a Ford dealership, the parts guy said some bumper come black and some come bluish color
