I am still trying to run down all the codes after the motor swap. The two I am having trouble with are codes 66 and 98. I know 66 is the MAF but I went trough the surging idle checklist and I think I just had a loose pin on the computer (#9) tied to wire C on the Maf harness I believe. Anyhow I think its ok now. However I also have code 98 which the book says is a hard fault in the computer. Any ideas guys. I tried searching but the search needs 3 letters numbers etc and it keeps coming back with every post with 'code' in it. I also have a code for secondary fuel pump but I don't think I ran the wire over when I did the mass air conv.

Was 98 during EO or ER retrieval?

Did you re-clear the codes after you fixed your wiring?

98 can come from running in FMEM, which could be from having a bad MAF connection. More info about the conditions would help.

Good luck.

That was while it was running. I also had 66 (Maf) but I thouht I got that fixed. I am gonna clear the codes and try it again in a little bit and see what comes up. I'll let you know whaat I get thanks

Just ran the tests again I got 95 (secondary fuel pump circuit) on koeo. I never ran the wire for that and for koer I got 98 (hard fault) and 66 (MAF) I put a DVM and tested the maf wires I have continuity right up to the harness (wire side) on #9 pin and tought I had it right to the pin, I am not sure if the pin is making full contact as it is one that I placed in the harness. Otherwise is this most likel a bad EEC?
