My 01 is throwing an evaporative system code. I had to replace the gas cap because of another code but this one keeps coming back. Recently I filled it up(just bought the car) and gas leaked out for days. The rubber seal from the filler neck to the tank is shot. I have a new one that I will install tomorrow, but will that cause the evap system to throw the code if it is leaking? I suspect it will since the closed loop system is seeing no pressure to the canister. Thanks.
