My car started missing the other day at random, mostly in the low rpm's. My CEL flashed on and off about 4 times on my way home from work and was missing badly. This morning I checked for codes with the DSP thinking that I probably had a plug misfiring but it didnt read that, as this has happened before.

I pulled a P1000 code which is OBD-II Monitor Testing Incomplete and that is the only thing that i came up with. What does this code mean? What should I check next?

the P1000 code is a placeholder code. All it means is there was a code in the system and was erased. The EEC then uses the p1000 to alert any emmisions tester or tech that all the OBD2 tests have not run yet since the last code clearing.

You going to have to drive the car again untill you get the codes again..

BTW a flashing check engine light is a misfire.

:stupid: I've been having an intermittent code for the Cam Sensor (not regular enough to test the sensor) and every time I clear that code I get the P1000. Any other time it doesn't exist...

Mine only comes on @ startup and then stays on, after which I have only seen a misfire once on each occasion. Under moderate acceleration it will hickup once and never again. The codes I've been getting are...

P0340 Camshaft position sensor
A Circuit (Bank1 or single sensor)

P1336 Crankshaft/Camshaft sensor
range/performance

I believe the 2 to be related. What other codes have you been getting crzyhrse99 (we might be barking up the same tree)?

Yesterday was the only day that i checked for codes, and the one I stated above was the only one. I havent driven the car today, but I will see if i can pull any after I come home from work.

The hiccup you are talking about does sound like what my car is doing. It runs fine at idle and WOT but around 2-3k RPM/slow accelration it will start bucking a few times.

I'll post back tomorrow and see if it throws any.

po340

P0340 - Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Circuit Malfunction The test fails when the PCM can no longer detect the signal from the CMP sensor. CMP circuit open
CMP circuit short to GND
CMP circuit short to PWR
SIG RTN open (VR sensor)
CMP GND open (Hall effect sensor)
CMP misinstalled (Hall effect sensor)
Damaged CMP sensor shielding
Damaged CMP sensor
Damaged PCM
Harness routing, harness alterations, improper shielding, or electrical interference from other improperly functioning systems may have intermittent impact on the CMP signal.

I would check the wirring and connector and if thats fine try replacing the sensor.
and there is no p1336.... are you sure this is the correct code.
