code pull out

Hi guys I have a 1997 mustang I need to pull the code but I couldn't find the sti I already found the other big connection but not the sti so f any body can help me out here I'll appreciate it . Thanks

are you talking about the OBDII port? If so, it's on the driver's side, under the dash, mounted on the side of the middle console thing. It's shaped like a trapezoid and is about 1 1/2 inches in length

no not that one i know were it is . i want to do the self test manuly to get the code by the engine light the socket is in the engine compartment on the driver side

You can't pull codes out of OBD-II cars - that's 1996 and newer - without the use of a tool capable of interfacing to the J1962 port - the OBD-II serial port- under the dash. Scanners aren't that expensive anymore. Perhaps a local Pep Boys can pull the code for you for a few bux if you're not wanting to buy a scanner yourself.
