I did not re-read this all again (forgive me). Are you still SD? Could this be a chip issue (often chips puke a processor code, which you did not post so I am confused).

The CBT might be revealing, but I would not hold your breath. It will note if a cylinder is dropping (or not dropping, actually). So if you can get it to miss during the test, that might work. Otherwise, if you dont see the miss during the test, it wont show anything IMHO.

No, its a mass air conversion. As far as the cylinder test Im just tring to rule out any possibilty before I go nuts. 1 step at a time and Ill eventually get it but it is wearing my pateince thin.
Also no chips in the ECU. Its an A9L out of a 89 gt with a 5-speed.

Ok, today I have been searching high and low for anything out of the ordinary. I see that my phenloic spacer is or has been wet again. I am sure that the blow by that I had is back. PCV vavle is new strainer is new new hose. I asuume that thew blow by may be my cause of part throttle cruise miss since oil is not designed to be in this area. Any thoughts??

The only item on your list that might cause poor part throttle performance was the missing carbon canister. It opens up at cruse to vent the tank and richen the fuel mixture. If you were on the lean edge of the adaptive fuel mixture, this could be a problem if it wasn't there.

Ok, looked at all of the possible problems, and reset computer. Replaced the idle air with a used one I had laying around. Took the car for a spin and it was better but not gone. Came back to the house and smelled gas bad!! Found the source was coming from the air vent line from the old carbon canister. Its the line I pulled out laying across the air filter. I had just put it inside the fender well when I removed the canister. It has a small amount of fuel dripping out of it now!!!! I'm guessing I'm not the only one that has removed the carbon canister but is this the root of ny problems??

Make a trip to the junkyard: the canister & purge solenoid from any Ford that fits the purge solenoid electrical connetor will do. The total cost should be less than $10. You have already spent much more than that it time and energy trying to fix this problem

I see that no one else has had anything to add since this started I'll just PM you when I replace the carbon canister to see what happens.

JR is as smart as anyone on here and most of us cant add much in addition to what he posts. That does not mean others dont follow along on your thread or wouldnt be able to use the info at a later time when performing a search. So perhaps you could post your findings on the thread too.

It just seems a waste to keep posting if I'm only getting a response from 1 or 2 people. I will post up the results when and if I can finally fix the issue. Thanks for the help.

This is a forum, a place for minds to meet and share ideas. I learn much from the posts of other people, since they have a different perspective or experience. This helps me see things that I may have missed or even something that I didn't know.

I would much rather have a problem posted for open discussion so that others can be eyes, ears and ideas on how to fix the problem: their input is valuable.

Dont get me wrong I understand open forum debates help everyone it just seems that this thread is specific to my car. No one else has commented on having the same problem. Yes, hesitation is a common problem but not similar to my issue. Any thought or ideas are always helpful.

Ok, installed the carbon canister=no luck. Drives the same and the hesitation still exsists. Thoughts on next move because Im about done.
I was intrested if anyone has used a Interactive System Technologies air adjuster?? Its located at mass-air.com

Ok, I'm back with another idea. Would or could blow by (oil) that is being sucked in cause some hesitation?? I'm wondering if the oil is say causing the fuel mixture not to burn at the rate it should?? Sounds like a long shot but worth asking. I was recently still going over my check list and found my phenolic spacer to be slightly wet. I thought I had taken care of this a while back but no such luck on that one either. Any thoughts??

I kinda doubt that oil contamination of the intake charge would cause hesitation. It could cause detonation and a dirty intake but not significant hesitation.
Not to beat a dead horse, but this is a good reason to post the replies on the thread - someone (like Vristang, who had some oil control issues and a very wet intake) might read this and be able to help out.
