Coil overs....

I was reading this month's issure of MM&FF and there's an article on the Eibach coilovers. I'm thinking of going with this type of suspension when the time comes. I like the idea of being to adjust my ride height and that you can get better handling with lighter springs. Is anyone here running coilovers? If so, what brand and how do you like them?

I would not do it. Heres the deal, the springs are fine, eibach is known for making world class coilover springs. The problem is that in order for Eibach to make this package affordable they had to use low quality struts(somthing equatable to a tire store brand shock) and shocks to meet their low price point.
When it comes to coilovers you get what you pay for.

I wouldn't get coilovers but,when you
purchase them you get what you pay
for!

Are there other brands out there though? I have a buddy that's a distributor for Bilstein. What I used a set of there shocks that are designed for coil overs with the springs?

I chose the MM coilovers with Bilstein dampers.

The nice thing about the MM kit is that they use Hypercoil springs and the rates are in 25# increments to suit your needs.

I don't know if the Eibach kit comes with that kind of variety or if it's a one-spring-rate-fits-all solution? Meaning if you wanted to make a track or Auto-X run using a real stiff rate and then swap them out for a softer "street" rate, you may be outta' luck with Eibach.

The Hypercoil springs are only about $60 each if you wanted another set with a different rate for a different application.

I just got a ground pounder k member off ebay for $200. I dont have the a rms or coil over yet. Gonna get the ground pounder a arms and than a granetelli coil over kit. It is adjustable and you can use almost any strut you want. Even the stockers. For me i am interested in weight loss, than adjustability, than clearance for long tubes. I'll post what I think when i install them. Prob be sometime after the Holidays when i have more disposable income in my budget and some time.

So it sounds like if I went with the Hypercoils the shocks would be the most expensive part. The biggest thing I didn't like about the Eibachs was that the rear wasn't a true coil over. The springs had an adjuster, but they mounted in the original spot. And the shocks were bolted in the stock place as well.
