Which is the best cold air intake for a 96 Cobra. I have heard if you go with the full metal pipe it can get heat soak and hurt performance. I was thinking a K&N FIPK or a C&L true flow system. What are you guys using? What works best?

Should I replace the Motorcraft filter with K&N stock style replacement?

I respectfully disagree with the statement that a CAI is a waste of money.

I will say that a CAI that ends up under the hood or is poorly designed is a waste of money.

That JLT looks like a nice kit, I wonder if its worth the money? 16 horse gain seems to be alot for an intake setup.

JLT is a good kit but i doubt you will see anymore than maybe 5 hp. money would be spent better elsewhere

I also see with the JLT I would loose my strut tower brace, so forget that!

I opted for the polished aluminum K&N system. Looks nice, sounds nice, and know nothing about any "heat soak" issues that affect performance, only that aluminum conducts heat four times faster than cast iron. How that equates to performance is beyond me.
