Is it worth spending the money on a cold air intake? Do you feel a difference compared to a ram air effect? I know it looks sweet but looks and performace are two different things. Please let me know what you guys think.

Thanks :flag:

No performance gain, the stock intake is already a cold air intake if you were to remove the factory air silencer. Some guys have them, they look ok IMO, but are a waste of money.

Well, i had both. So, im going to say this..... The ram air works really good (its designed to) and so does the cai. But, if you run your car with ram air, then swap to cai, odds are that it might give 2-5 more hp, but, when your playing with 250 hp (on average) already, you probably wont see any gains that are mind blowing.
But it does clean up your engine bay.

Not worth the money. Like stated, removing the air silencer and getting a K&N flat filter is pretty much a CAI. I had ram air but I didn't like it because it got my filter really dirty. It was like a street vaccum!

The only thing on a stock CAI that's restrictive is the rubber accordian hose thing and the air silencer, aside from the stock filter of course. In the end you're not going to see an gains with an aftermarket CAI than you would with the silencer removed and a K+N installed.

I do have the silencer removed and I do have a K&N filter. I also have a home made ram air system on the car now and I like the way it works. I was just wondering if its worth buying the cold air system.

i just put a fenderwell kit on mine....well i had the rest of it, but the air cleaner was in the engine bay...it kinda feels like it runs better, especially when the motor is hot. but thats probably just me wanting it to do something. haha..stupid cold air intake

i thought there was a difference, when i tool off the air silencer and stock filter, put on the CAI with the K&N, its like my engine could breath again, now just getting a K&N and taking the silencer off would do the same, but i thought it would look bad with a K&N on the end of the black rubber stock tube.
