I am looking to get a cold air intake for my 96 GT. Suggestions on which ones sound the best and perform the best? Thanks guys!

I would go with JLT they have very reasonable prices and they can paint them to match your car,I'm getting mine for 185 shippe. They are also plastic so they stay cooler, and they come with a nice large filter.

Possible rice alert here...anyone who wants to know if an intake is loud (i.e. like on a Honda Civic!) should be questioned...

Tunable Induction (formerly Densecharger) makes a good CAI as well. If you're getting a CAI, you may as well replace the upper plenum and TB while you're at it. You will see a better HP/TQ increase. What sound should a CAI make? When my brother replaced his intake/TB/plenum, it makes a strange sound, but I think that's just air flowing around the butterfly valve. It kind of "chirps," for lack of a better word.

The DeMolet performs the best. The JLT is good looking if painted to match the car.
Everyone likes a different style. Just stay away from the metal systems.

i have the Tunable Inductions piece from DeMolet that Stangpro was talking about. love it. i Highly suggest that one. cant beat it for the price and noticable performance from just bolting it on. Lemme know if you are interested I'll point ya in the right direction for finding a good price.

its more of an import thing. i had an RSX before i got the GT. going from a stock airbox to something like the injen short ram intake you had a drastic change in engine sound. actually sounded very nice, reminded me of the 350Z honestly.

the GT does not get the same change in sound that the imports do, why, i couldnt tell you. but we just dont get the change in pitch/tone that is so apparent on the very small engine imports.

Thanks, I just looked at the site. The prices look good... Do you know if they ship to APOs? (Overseas military)

With DeMolet there are different ones. you can get just the tube from the MAF to the filter, or the whole thing. i suggest getting the system 5 stage 1. most economical and has everything you need. connects to the stock TB or 75mm (spacer ring), and stock MAF. replaces all the other pipes.

The only CAI I've seen produce any dyno proven gains is the K&N FIPK.

Get the full length; it replaces the entire tube (filter to TB). Again, for better gains, replace the plenum and TB; my brother just did that and I felt a big difference. I bought everything from Stangpro; he was excellent to deal with, but I don't know about shipping APO. Are you at Ramstein?

Oh, go to Stangpro's website; it is very informative. He has dynoed much of what he sells, including the CAI (DeMolet Tunable Induction), plenum, and TB.
