I was at Lackland; never left until I Palace Chased into the guard in 99. The Guard was great; our 2 week summer camp was at Hurlburt Field in FL (Fort Walton Beach); it was difficult duty, especially getting paid TDY. To keep from hijacking your thread: I must say that after evrything was installed, my brother finally took me for a ride on Monday; it was MUCH faster. If he can afford it, he will try to get it dynoed to back up Stangpro's results.
I started with a K&N filter and felt nothing. Then I installed a K&N FIPK w/cold-air shroud in my '96 GT and I like it. The SOTP meter immediately felt real strong and the dyno showed approx. 10 rwhp gain (187 rwhp stock to 199 rwhp w/FIPK and MAC cat-back). K&N recommends a tune if you add a cat-back since the FIPK works better with just the stock exhaust. The stock exhaust tone changed to a nice low rumble and you could hear a deep whooshing sound at WOT. I know many don't believe me but they seem to work well in these 96-98's. I'm very happy with it.
