+1 - no point in lining someone elses pocket with what could be perfectly good beer money.

I would follow Grady's suit or go ebay if you want some bling. I think I would use my own filter though (I'm kinda hinky on some of those cheap filters, but I live in the dust belt).

FWIW, my MAC CAI is in the fenderwell. The thing is in the way of everything and drives me nuts.

I have the same one as bill302....I actually don't like the fenderwell anymore because it's too hard to get to that filter...but it's cleaner looking in there

Maxspeed Motorsports sells them....google that company

Well, I was one of those who lined someone's pockets and purchased the MAC one - plus I went to the local Speed Unreasonable shop. So I got reamed to the 2nd power . For the following reasons, I spent the extra dough: 1) I wanted to get my car back together asap and 2) the Mustang guy at the shop provided much help with my project so to keep his willingness to share his expertise, I threw him some bones every then and again and 3) I was willing to help the commerce that one time. But believe me it is rare that I intentionally get reamed and line others pockets. But sometimes you've gotta give a little to get alot. Just One Man's Opinion. Peace

Edit: By the way, I also purchase the Granatelli Mass Air Sensor that was calibrated/designed for a CAI . I guess it's made to work with the bends etc.

I bought one of them ebay ones for $50... it looks good when you first put it on but give it a month or two and their fake me out chrome will eventually stain and loose it's finish and look like crap. It's probably just me, but I have a problem with that fenderwell stuff. First their cheap filter got so damn dirty in there like every month it was completely filthy. Second I couldn't use my MAF screen with it, some people probably don't care but I know they put it there for the purpose of straightening out the air to hit the sensor correctly. Or so i'm told. Third I couldn't fit my IAT sensor or aircharge whatever sensor in there all the way so at least a quarter of the sensor was still in the threaded part. And finally I just can't see the benefits of having a 90 degree angle bend over a straight through design. It seems to me that the bend would hurt airflow coming into the MAF unit. To make a long story short... for now I favor my stock unit more.

I have the Mac cold air kit. Seems okay but a little pricey for what it is.

I have had a MAC kit since 1999, no problems with it, the chrome looks brand new after a little Mother's chrome polish, however it won't fit an LMAF so I'm gonna make my own, AFM Powerpipe style that shoots straight for the fender and puts the MAF down there. I plan on using either exhaust pipe, or possibly some aluminum pipe if I can get a screamin' deal on some.

Ok, I forgot to ask this question. Do you have problems with water getting on the filter when driving in the rain?

I have a BBK CAI that I got from Summit. It looks good under the hood cuz its accented with blue and matches the color of my car. No complaints here.
