Hey Guys, I have a 289 that Im wanting to sell but i cant find a manufacture date on it anywhere. The block imprint in the Intake valley says 289 thats it! Its has Heads, Harmonic Balancer, all the internals, Timing chain cover. Carb, Distrib, waterpump, Alternator and starter Not included if you are interested. I believe its the orig. Motor too the Car. Any thoughts would be helpful!

If you look on the passenger side of the engine near where the starter motor mounts, there should be a date code there. It’s letters and numbers. It’s easy to decode. But, A is January, etc. Good luck.

Ok so, I guess the only way to tell is to try and remove it from the Crate that the shop placed it in?
