I've got a 95 GT and I have done the Fox conversion with the throttle body so I wouldn't have to get the elbow for the upper intake. Any ideas on doing a custom cold air that puts the filter in the fender?

Just curious..that is the most I have heard at the wheels for a 5.0 with H/C/I. They usually run around 300rwhp and maybe a little over..How didi yu get to 320?

It is supposed to be 310hp and 320tq. Thats my fault, thats what happens when you get in a hurry.

That's prett good Still. I followed Grady's example where he cut more of a hole in the fenderwell. I used a pvc pipe that was long enough to go in there too.

It would seem to me the angle would not be quite the same with the Fox tb conversion

Would that prevent you from having a straight shot pointing to the area behind the headlight like like you can with the use of an elbow

Been here done that a few times over and over and over...I tried to go the Ebay route buying a Fox CAI and pc it together...its an option and can work..I tried but didn't use it...they can be had on the cheap though.

This is a C&L inlet and a 3.5" 45 deg sweep....

This one is using a Fox OEM inlet and some PVC...it scammed the fenderwell pc at a salvage yard off an Explorer...10.00 set-up..It'll get your running til your figure something else out. drill a 5/8 hole in the PVC for the IAT sensor.

Same set-up but using 3.5" exh tubing....need a 45 deg sweep & staright lenght and some turbo connectors...I never painted it up, just left it to match the upper. Notice the holes for your IAT sensor and oil fill vent.

Rio, where did you put the mass air sensor? Is it in the fenderwell?

Where did you get the bongs for the IAT and oil sensors? What size are they?

I have looked at everybody's various pics over and over

I always come up with the same thoughts each time

If you can ... you strive for no bends and the filter in the fender for cooler temps.

I see a bend in the SN setup elbow
and
I see a bend in the Fox tb conversion
and
to me ... they don't seem all that much different

Other thoughts about this subject I got .........

If you don't draw cooler air because the filter is installed in the hot motor compartment ...... other gains form a more efficient intake pipe setup are most likely gonna be offset.

The pipe size for a typical na street combo is not all that critical as it is if one is running a forced induction combo. It is my belief you don't need a 4" pipe for every combo and a lot of the time, the use of larger pipe is motivated by the bling factor as opposed to using it for performance.

Some worry about using metal pipe because the temp of the hot motor compartment is transfered to the pipe. At WOT, the air is moving so fast it is not gonna have time to be influenced by that concern IMHO. I base that thought upon a friend who works with airflow, pipes and the like for a living in the automotive air conditioner biz.

I sure don't have it all figured out
and
it would be very interesting to be able to test all the variables
