From someone who has these in their car now. I am putting some cams in for my buddy. He has a 2003 gt. It does have exhaust and 3.55 gears other than that completely stock. I called comp to ask some questions but the guy didn't sound to sure. I need to know what all do I need to have with this cam. I know how to install them I just need to know do I have to have the up graded springs, do I need a programmer Or will it run on the stock computer?

I think the stock computer will work fine. 3.73 gears would be preferable but he has what he has. I believe they recommend an upgraded spring, but with everything else stock, he probably can't hit the stock spring limit before something else gives up first. But, I would definitely tune it if it were mine, because the A/F will probably change quite a bit because this is a mildly aggressive cam. Even if they are to be installed at zero degrees (no advance or retard) they probably still need to be degreed because stock Ford cam gears are notorious for being off a degree or five! Just going through this myself now. Good luck.

I don't want to sound like an idiot but tune as in a plug in programmer or a true shop tune?

A dynotune. Once everything is installed properly on a mod motor, there is very little which can be tweaked manually. Pretty much everything that matters is tuned through the computer by a dynotuner with the appropriate software and his knowledge. Don't try to save $50 on the chepest dynotune. Go to someone who knows mod motors. I don't think a tune just to bring in those cams will be too big a deal. It will if you don't do it though! Good luck.

make sure u degree these cams in perfectly. if u set them up where comp says to u will have a ptv issue. u need to check ur clearances and be sure u set it up right to not have issues. trust me on this as i know from first hand experience. also a spring upgrade is recommended. i didnt do it b/c im planning on buying some stage 2 heads soon that will have springs already installed, but they are highly recommended. also he will definately need a tune, my car just flat out would not idle until i got it tuned, plan for a tune immediately.
