http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=465580

This is my previous post where I explaind the problem I was having. I was told to do a compression test... so here are the results...

Cyliner #4 - 165.30 Cyliner #8 - 159.00
Cyliner #3 - 161.00 Cyliner #7 - 161.00
Cyliner #2 - 166.00 Cyliner #6 - 160.00
Cyliner #1 - 160.00 Cyliner #5 - 156.00

Those are the results from the compression test with an average of 3 tests per cylinder. The results to me look pretty good. My Dad came up with one theory. He thinks its the cooling system. I have the stock radiator hoses along with the stock 2 core radiator. He thinks once I hit the nitrous either the lower hose is old and collapses or there is a build up of coolant going to the radiator not allowing it to flow fast enough therefore it overflows in the overflow. I think both make sense. What do you guys think from the compression results and what I just said above....???

looks perfectly good to me.... it shoud be around 150 for a stock engine if you blew a head gasket those depending on where it's blown, a couple of your numbers would be dramatically lower.....

Right now the plan is to get a 3 core radiator and some new radiator hoses. The cool chrome bbk ones would be nice but probably not in the budget... (a.k.a debt)...

yeah i agree with black fox. like i said in your last post i didnt think it was a blown hg. and those numbers all look in line with each other.

before you run out and buy a bunch of cooling system stuff, start small and check hoses and clamps. it could have leaked out of a clamp if there was sudden pressure or something. it might have come from the bottom hose on the radiator. then check under the car while its running and see if it is leaking from anywhere else. let it get hot and check your overflow tank and see where it sits. maybe it is higher than the hot line where it should sit. maybe your radiator has a slight leak. basically just check everything really good before running out and buying a bunch of stuff you dont really have to.

Does your lower hose have the coil spring in it to keep it from collapsing? Perhaps with the nitrous the revs are climbing so quickly (water pump accelerating so quickly) that it is collapsing the lower hose and starving the engine for coolant. Just a guess.

The lower hose doesn't have a coil spring in it. My dad was thinking the same exact thing about the hose collapsing once the nitrous kicks in and the sudden jump of coolant flowing...

After my dad and I did the compression tests we were looking at the hoses, the top hose looks ok but the bottom one seems a little weak like it could collapse. When we squeezed it, it started to leak where it connects to the water pump. I know for sure I'm going to replace the lower hose...

I'll replace the whole cooling system as long as I don't have to rip that engine apart again
